The clicking noises you can hear in the passenger side footwell is the central locking timer relay. This controls the remainder passenger doors to open & close. The drivers door has the switch which sends the signal to the cltr.
You can remove the cltr & open the black box to reveal the circuit board. Its a possibility that it may have been water damaged? Double check the drivers door wiring/ switch etc.
