Hi All
My headlamps and main beams stopped working the other night and are still out.
When i turn the lights on there is a 'click' sound from both the relays under the bonnet, niether normal beam or main will work but both side lights are working. Would anyone know if this would indicate a blown bulb or could the relays be fubared. I have had lamps go before without damaging the relays but have since upgraded to the facelift crystals. Wouldn't of thought it would make a difference but has anybody had similar problems.
Thanks

One of the best tools you can buy, for electrical work, is a circuit tester. Mine came from a local carshop. It has a brass body with a little bulb in it, and a lead with a crocodile clip on the end. Attach the croc clip to earth, touch the probe to live and the bulb lights up. Costs about £2.
Now.......armed with the above, you should be able to tell if the bulbs are actually getting any current to them.
If they are, and still no light, it's the bulbs. it's certainly NOT unkniwn for both to go at once.
If no current is getting to them it's either fuses, (likely), relay, (less likely) or wiring, (unlikely, unless you've been messing with it

Someone suggested a live and earth may have melted together or chaffed and contacting so I checked the wiring.
1 day later lol

It turned out to be...

This little bugger under the dash board. Then another 2 and half days to put it all back together. Great fun
