Default electric Folding mirrors

On a cLassic, is there a way to tell these apart when they are not on the car? Ie, do the folding ones have more wires than the normal ones?
thanks

Thanks mate. If I get some, I'll let you know.
I've been to ESB. Was like a kid in a sweet shop. I'll give them a ring.

Got mine from ESB in the end
Couple of ways to tell, apart from the weight (although there were two types, the heavier ones had a metal base plate, but some still had the a plastic base plate that made them lighter?) :

1. The plug connector has five wires, so five connectors on the plug.
2. They don't bend back like standard ones.
3. When you close them manually, they click quite loudly when they are fully closed.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I`ve bought a pair of folding mirrors and the switch and wouldn`t mind some help on the additional wiring that`s required to make the mirrors fold.

If the `how to guide' is still available I wouldn`t mind a copy.

Many thanks.

All I could find is a super, over complicated guide : https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...rors-help.html

Do a search, because KIPS simplified it.

It is fairly easy. You should have the viring already in the door, so you won't have to add the extra, make that your first check, so fit them and plug them in.
All I did, was then trace the wires from the door loom, to the connector block in the car, and add the aextra wires going to a switch, and then a live.
