Did it not start after they had finished at the body shop?

Crank sensor is probably your trouble.

you could try checkin your earths as if they have taken them off sprayed and not cleaned them befor refitting that will cause it not to start. had this happen to a m8s rover coupe

Have you checked the crank sensor?
What fault codes are you getting from the engine light when the relevant wires are connected under the steering wheel as this will identify any sensor issues?
I believe the single coil is the wasted spark type so dont be fooled by the two leads sparking. Not 100% sure but if the crank sensor is faulty it may not tell the coil when to spark ... its worth a check especially as its at the front of the engine and probably close to where the damage and bodyshop work has been carried out.

Other than that it could be all sorts of things like a wiring or ecu fault.

Cool

Has it been started since the crash???

I know this has now't to do with it not sparking...... but do they have a cut off buttom for the fuel when in a bump...
Might just be a case of pushing the button back in???

Keep us updated...

Look on thw sun visors for any info... although with it being a STi it'll be in Jap anyway... lol
