Hi

I know a lot of people have upped the power of their bulbs.

My first MOT in a couple of weeks - do you need to put the 55W ones back in or will it be OK.

Also will the Blue sidelights W5W be OK

Can't see the headlight bulbs being a problem.... but I would replace the blue ones though.

If the sidelights are a white with a blue tint they'll be OK I would think. If they're the lax bowel deep blue led type then they should fail I would hope.

Can't see how the MOT people would know you're running 80W bulbs so don't worry about that. If you're still concerned stick the 55W blubs in the glove box and change them if they say anything, only takes 2 minutes.

Just be carefull with running high watt bulbs as our stock wiring sometimes wont take it, and will melt. I would recomend upgrading to a dual relay headlight harness.

I had an old 205 GTI that had 100w bulbs in the headlights and driving lights, so I had 400w main beam. Never a problem for MOT, just be careful with the wiring.
