Default Front windscreen washer pump

Hi,

I've just bought a 94 M reg Wrx (import).

I've just realised there is no water coming out when i activate the front window wipers.

The back one works fine.

The pump makes no noise, so i took off the connector to the pump and connected my volt metre probes.

I got a reading which varied between 0.10 and 0.20 volts.

I did the same test on the back pump and this gave me a reading of about 12v.

Where do i go from here? The connector was covered in grease, but i presume that wouldn't stop the connectivity problem?

Where should i trace this low voltage fault back to?

thanks for any help.

Is the wiring plug the same on both pumps? If it is then swop the plugs and the water pipes over and see if the fault is still with the fronts. If it's not then job done, the pumps broke but you can manage without rear washer can't you? If it is then it's a switch or wiring problem.
