I was under the impression the main beams on Morettes are H3s.

The dipped head lights on mine are H4 (Philips Vision Plus), but not managed to work out how to remove the main beam bulbs to have a look.

Chris.

was looking at scoobymania site and it said:

4 X H4 Cibie lamps:
Dipped Beam = 2 x 50 Watts (Outer lamps)
Main Beam = 4 x 55 Watts (Outer & Inner lamps)

so maybe they are all H4's which is nice.

in which case I'll get some more visions or maybe the nice 100w bulbs from halfords, for off road use of course

Well, i've gone ahead and ordered a set of the quads from www.needforspeed.co.uk

was 294 quid inc VAT and delivery, which is the cheapest I've found.

thanks for all the advice guys.

I'm planing on taking pics whilst fitting, plus after, to show what the gaps are like on a pre 96 car.

One more bit of advice needed!!!!!

On the morettes there are two wires that need to be spliced into the main loom, I'm told the instructions are not that clear as to which wire is attached to which wire on the loom. Anyone got any ideas? preferably some pictures.

I assume that the headlight loom wiring for a MY94 WRX is similar to other MY years, or is that one of the differences between jap and uk spec cars?

I fitted a set to my MY99 last year, they come with bulbs 2xH4 and 2xH2 which are little buggers to get out, and nobody does any upgrades for them. There used to be two different Morrette kits one for those cars with electrical height adjustment and on for those without. Make sure you have ordered the correct one. You have to take the height adjusters off the old lamps and fit them to the Morrette kit, three screws retain them and some brute force is needed to remove them. If you want any help give me a shout..

Andy,
thanks, I've got the correct ones, ie; without hight adjustment. my only problem at the moment is the two wires that need to be spliced in, and which one of the morette wires goes to which wire on the headlamp loom.

Right, they've turned up! totally amazed as I only ordered them yesterday afternoon.

so, I see on the inner cibie that there is a tiny bulb holder thing, whats that for? sidelights? how does one get it off, it seems rather tight., what bulb would I use for that? where can I get them? powerbulbs.com? if so then what one?

also, the outer cibie has a weird bulb in it, is it an H2? what can I upgrade that with?

Inner should be main beam H2 and outer H4 main and dip, the litte hole is for sidelight but I left the bung in mine as it looked to much hassle to wire up. I had a look at my wiring but can't see well enough to advise looked like red wire with blue/grey stripe and red wire with grey band, This is to power the H2 main beam.
Nobody does H2 upgrades I tried every where and they are specific to Cibie who make the lamps in the kit.
