I replaced my frosted glass headlights with crystal clear ones from waxacar (think they're made by depo) but the headlight adjuster didn't fit into the housing as the ball on the end of the rod was too big. I've made one for the time being but its not ideal and now the electrical adjustment does work properly. Has anyone had this and what did you do?

Hi i have the same problem, got some crystal headlights from DR motorsport. but the my96 adjusters i had dont fit, i got some from a breakers from a my99 car but they still dont fit.

david at DR motorsport was looking into it, but i dont think hes had much luck. bit gutted really ill have to put old ones in for MOT and in the meantime they are pointing at the sky and dazzling everyone

I got some 6mm stud iron from work and ground the ends flat so that it would fit in the adjuster, then cut them to length. It still didn't work too well as it will push the bottom of the H/L forward but won't pull it back. I think the reciever is 7mm so i'm looking for some ball bearings to glue on the end to do the job. If i get some i will make you a couple of adjusters and send em to you.

Btw if the reciever slides off its guides in your old headlight its a bitch to get back on. I found out the hard way.

i had the same problem when i did my face lift what i did was strip the adjustment motor and got the pin with the ball and put it in my drill then i ground it down on my bench grinder and made the ball smaller that way and it snaped in perfect and works as it should

Cheers for the suggestion mate. I considered that but if I get it wrong i'm shagged cos none of em will work then. Do you know if you can get spare shafts?

im sure you could get a set second hand if the worst happens but just reduce in size a bit at a time and remember they should be stiff to snap in so dont over grind

I ordered mt N/S Crystal headlight from Scoobyworld and my adjuster fitted loverly. I had a stone chip in the headlight, which I temperally filled in with uhu glue
