Default Air con part

Hi,

I'm fitting a Subaru air con kit to my 1997 Sport. IM said the kit was the right one for the car but I discovered that the radiator/evaporator fan has a 3-wire connector while the plug in the car is 2-wire. The fan looks like it will fit perfectly and seems identical to the normal cooling fan.

Question is, can this fan be wired into the 2 wires in the car ? Is it a 2-speed fan, hence the 2 wires or is it more complicated than that ?

I am hoping I don't need to find another fan.

The kit is complete and unused, the only other problem is with the cockpit switch which will fit a 1996 but not my 1997 which has a rectangular fronted switch below the fan slider. Does anyone have one ?

Peter

Default

I discovered another problem with the air con kit that I am fitting.

IM assured me it is the correct kit for the car but the receiver/drier and the loom have different connectors. The harness has a small, round, 2 pin connector and the receiver/drier a larger 4 pin one.

Could someone have a look at their receiver/dryer and see if it has a 2 pin connection please. If so could you let me know the part number from it ?

There may be a few different 2-pin versions but hopefully the pipework is the same size otherwise I will have problems.

Thanks,

Peter

Default Air Con Receiver-drier

Could someone have a look at their receiver/drier and see if it has a 2 pin connection please. If so could you let me know the Subaru part number from it ? I am expecting something like 73410FA131.

Receiver-drier is a shiny metal can on the suspension turret behind the battery and connected with some pipes to the bulkhead and to the condensor/rad at the front.

Thanks,

Peter
