connecting 2003-05 Hid headlights
Hello
Just wondering whether somebody can help me out. Im in the process of connecting my HID headlights to my WRX. From what iv read the best way doing this is by connecting them directly to the battery, using power from the headlight loom to trigger a relay etc. I have done some research through Hidplanet dot com, and have come up with the following diagram.
Is the above diagram the correct way to make my harness?

Looks spot on that will certainly work. Some minor comments:
Not sure what the diode is for.
You don't need 2 off 15A fuses in parallel and a 30A fuse. Either the two 15A's or the 30A will do the same job.
Rather than put two cables on the 87 terminal of the relay you can get them with two terminal 87's then you can do one cable to each ballast, no real difference just easier to wire. Part R30BT at VWP.

Hey
Apparently if you wire HID to stock wiring loom you can cause serious damage to the wiring loom, so i decided that powering them from the battery is the safest way to install them.
With the diode, im not really sure why its there, the wiring diagram which i posted was taken from a sight called HIDplanet.com. So should i leave the diode out?

Some people put diodes in series with the trigger feed to a realy to protect it from back emf when the relay OPENS.
It's not strictly necessary IMHO, but if you can get one, why not?

Oh, and don't forget to seal any relays with clear silicone, Araldite etc around the base/ cover join. I didn't, with my first HID driving light realy, and it rusted solid
Also, use protective boots, (covers) on all wiring to relay, fuses, etc. The simplest way of fusing is to buy a fused relay, and put the 30A fuse in that.
