Xenon Headlight Bulbs, what type....
as thread, was looking to change the std. headlight bulbs for the new Xenon type i.e. Philips.
Can anyone tell me a) what bulb type is fitted to 2003 onward Impreza as there are various types from H1 to H4.
b) are they any good, supposed to be 30 % brighter but thats about all I know.
Any advice grateful .
Mark.

Can't help with the types, your manual should advise.
As regards Xenon bulbs, be aware that NOT all bulbs are equal.
It really depends on WHY you want Xenon.........for extra light, or for bling?
I use Philips Vision Plus 50% brighter, or GE Megalights 60% brighter, in my classic (H4), and both are miles better than the stock bulb. They aren't Xenon, they just burn hotter and therefore whiter, and draw the same current, so no wiring upgrades are needed. I have HID driving lights though.

For new-age/blob-eye/'03
Dipped H1:
448VP H1 Philips Vision Plus 50% bulbs (pair) £18.45 or
448SVS H1 Osram Silverstar 50% bulbs (pair) £18.45
Full HB3:
HB3/9005 HB3/9005 Philips Premium 30% bulbs (pair) £23.45
From:

These came out best in Auto Express report. I had to buy a second set of H1 bulbs last week as someone bumped the front end parking and the Osrams blew, so replaced them with Phillips. I'd say the Osrams were brighter but maybe I just need to adjust them again as they're slightly off-target.
I just went for the brightest, not bothered about blue etc...and there is an improvement, ironically particularly on full-beam.
