Default HELP: Fitting UK300 headlamps

Tried doing a search. No luck.

I've removed my headlamp from my bugeye scooby.
Going by the instructions I have for the UK300 lights I have to remove the 3 wires from the black socket using a pin but I cannot see how this is possible. Once this is done the 3 wires are pushed into a brown socket that fits the UK300 lights.

Does anyone know?

Thanks

Not done this on that car but.....

Most of the metal pins crimped onto wires and inserted into multi-plugs have a small metal tang sticking out. It works like a non-return tag. As you push the pin into the plug the tang gets pushed back by a ramp at the side of the hole. Once past the end of the ramp it then springs out and holds the pin in the hole.

So to remove the pin you have to have a good peer into the front of the plug to find which side of the pin the tang is. When you can see it push something (like a pin or a small jewellers screwdriver if you have such a thing) into the hole round the edge of the front of the pin to push the tang back in while you (gently) tug on the wire at the back of the plug to pull it clear.

Easier to do than explain.

Once it's out you sometimes have to bend the tang back out before it will work again in the new socket.
