Default Fitting side repeaters.

Just bought myself some new side repeaters to ged rid of the orange ones.
They have come with 2 wires per lamp but no connectors.
Can anybody give advise on fitting them.
Can i reuse whatever connectors already exist ?
Do i need to disconect the battery, if so does that effect alarm, sterio etc when reconnected.
Car is MY02 Bug.
Thanks for any advice as i'm a complete novice with all things electrical.
Nik.

Don't know about the 02 but my 04 has sealed units side repeaters.

Usually you just need to push them forward and pull at the same time to remove them form the car.
Then simply twist the repeater a 1/4 turn to disconnect the wire from the unit and replace is the reverse process. Don't bother disconnecting the battery should take 30 seconds.

If its a sealed unit then splicing wires or scotch locks might have to be used

Read the other post, if its your front markers and not repeaters ignore this

Would recommend soldering the cables and using heatshrink to insulate them. Had bad experiences with scotch blocks.

You can get away with NOT disconnecting your battery, as long as your not going to mess with hazard lights whilst installing the new lights. If you do disconnect the battery the alarm should be ok. Is your stereo a code type, if so make sure you have the code BEFORE disconnecting.
