4 speed Heater fan problems.. HELP!!
I have a 1997 Impreza sport with a regular heater- No aircon fitted. The fan doesnt work on the first 3 speeds- only speed 4.
The relay clicks positively under the dash in all speeds as it should, but the fan only fires up in speed 4.
I havent managed to locate the relay yet and wondered what the plan of attack should be?? Any ideas folks??
Any help would be much appreciated

Is there some kind of resistor that limits the fans speed?? or is it done by different windings on the motor?? OR a faulty switch. Personally don't think it will be the relay as this only switches the power to the motor, don't thiink it actually controls the fans speed.
Have a look here ,mate.

Have a look under cargo fan, I know its America but it might help a little. Not sure if you scoob has the same wiring as this diagram.
Must be a bind having to have the fan on full tilt all the time!!!

Im told the fan will run on 4 as its a direct feed and that there is a resistor which regulates the power down to obtain the lower speeds.. does anyone know if its easy to access the resistor and change it?? or remove the whole unit??
