Question Reducing voltage on ACT gauge

Hi,I have fitted a Air Charge Temp LCD gauge, ignition on gauge reads fine, but with engine running loses display.I checked charging voltage,14.48 volts.I spoke to the seller of the gauge and he said that it could be locking out on voltage drop at start up,left it unplugged, started engine and plugged it in,no display.

It seems that max voltage fot the gauge is about 14 volts,is there a dropping resistor that I can put inline with it,and if so what size?

Thanks Merv
