SCOOBY TOWERS, seems you are my new guru, lol. Purchased a set of PIAA HID driving lamps a while back but never fitted them due to one having a stone chip and needing a replacement lense. Ive bought a switch and relay but since im not a sparky i aint got a clue how to wire them up. Connections behind the covers are there but cant see the wires at the fusebox end and dont know where to fit the relay. Are the wires already behind the dash for the switch?
Regards,
Doug.

Hi Doug,
No the wires arn't there.
I bought the Prodrive kit that came with all the wiring , relays etc needed to fit them.
I rewired my existing fog light switch as an override button.
This allows the lamps to come on with main beam if the switch is in, but if its out the lamps won't work at all - saves thermal stressing the bulbs when flasinng people etc & when the white covers are on.
You need to wire them to the main beam as leaving them on on half beam will result in a pull by plod
I'm no sparky though.
Best bet is to try a search or failing that, put a post up asking for Alcazar - the electrical god
I can take pics etc of my wiring etc if its any use to you - just shout.
Chris

What have you got in your "kit" ?
Brackets, relays, bulb connectors ?
This maybe worth an E mail to Alan - http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...t=piaa+fitting

Hi Chris,
When i bought them it was just the lights themselves. Have since aquired a proper subaru switch, (with no where to put it because of i/c water spray-2 switches!!!) and a relay from good old Halfords. No brackets needed because they fit into the three holes that are already there. Have sent PM to Albob for fitting guide.

2xic, 1xrear fog, 1xbloody flashing led for alarm.....time for it to be remounted! Away to investigate wiring behind the switches but still lost when it comes to the fuse box and where the relay should go. If memory serves me right, theres four for the fans, 1 for A/C, 1 for horn, 2 for the main lights(l/h & r/h) one spare with no wires, and 3 clear ones which i aint got a clue what there for.
