Bulbs for bugeye please
Hi All.....
Having just purchased an 02 WRX STI I am looking at upgrading the bulbs for the headlights and main beam...
The owners manual only says that the headlight is H4 fittment, no mantion of main beam?
Can someone tell me what bulbs I require as powerbulbs.co.uk are doing a buy 1 pair get 1 free at the moment on some h4 bulbs...
thanks all.
btw the lights are the same as the ones on the car below...
sorry for nicking someones picture from this forum!

WRX has single H4 blub each side. The H4 is a dual filament blub, one for dip one for main. The WRX has a single big reflector for dip and main.
The STi though has two separate reflectors and two separate bulbs, one for dip and one for main. The manual obviosuly doesn't properly cover the STi. From memory dip beam is H1 and main beam is 9005 (aka HB3 I think). If you want to be sure just pop the bulbs out of the housing and read the type off the blub itself. Pull the connector off the back, then for the 9005 (the top one) turn it 30 deg and it pulls out, for the H1 unclip the thin metal spring and hinge it back, blub is then free to lift out.
