Having changed the head unit and installed a 10 CD changer ages ago, I've finally decided to compliment it with some decent speakers. Can someone enlighten me to the size of the speakers (front and rear) before I go and order anything! Got a feeling they're 6" ? I don't want to pull the door cards before actually getting the replacement speakers. Also, any recommendations as to make, model, spacer reqd. etc

Check the FAQ thread in the ICE forum. 6" should fit with 12mm MDF spacers as long as they are not too deep. Infinity 6000cs are well liked.
