Does anyone know of a common fault on classic wagons with the Rear windscreen wiper not moving (motors not even turning).
Have checked the fuse, connections and motor/mechanism and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong.
Can anyone suggest what I should look at next, without going to a main dealer who will charge an arm and an leg.
Thanks
Mav

I dont know about the wagon, but a common fault with rear wipers that have a cable supply is that the wire stretches over time and breaks just inside the headlining/cable trunk or in the supply cable itself.
Try running a temporary cable independent oif the battery as a test to see if the unit works. If this doesnt work then self parking switch inside motor could be broken, but more likely to be cable.

They get gunked up with all the water pouring into them and need taking apart and all the bits greasing. You can check this by wetting the windscreen thoroughly (bucket of water to hand), turning on the wiper and then helping it move back and forwards, after a couple of swipes it may start working on it's own. If so that's the probable cause, have to do mine on a fairly regular basis - Works for me!!
