Default Classic STi rear cluster & fog light Question

Just bought some STi Clusters from Ebay.
What needs doing for the rear fog.
From the image on Ebay it looks like there is a blanking plug where the bulb goes. But is there a Red diffuser or do I need a red bulb ??

cheers

AFAIK, there's no filter on that cluster, so you need a red bulb!
You can get red multi-LED bulbs that look clear when unlit, so as not to
spoil the look of the lens. These are expensive though, around £21 each!

Question

Or you could borrow some red nail varnish and paint a normal white/clear bulb?

eithr of those would do - just depends if you want 18 or 25 leds in the cluster.

suppose the brighter the better if its a foglamp... go for the 25.

Is it me just being thick or are we all that way inclined.
The STi light cluster is only clear for the reversing lights and indicators. So the Fog, Tail and Brake light still have a red lenses.

Doh!... I blame RobEvo5 who got me twitching about it in the first place.

The only time you would need to convert the fog light bulb, was if it was an import and one of the reversing lights had been converted to a fog.

The STi clusters dont actually have any provision for a fog light in them though, so it is either get a dremmel out and make a space for a bulb holder, convert the O/S reverse light to a fog light, or fit a fog light to the O/S of the car seperate to the cluster.

Uve only got one hole each side in the red section of the sti lights yer,so ur stop and tail light bulb holder goes in there-on the uk versions uve got shorter lenses (inside) half is stop and tail lights, other half foglight with another bulb holder.

Just been up into the loft and got my old OS/rear light cluster down, as you can see from the image below this has a 4th bulb holder for the fog light.

Fitted a red 'interior' bulb in the reverse light slot in the end.
It looked OK (ish) but can see the red when it's off.
So ordered some SIlvertec ones from the above site...nice price too
