Default PIAA bulbs

been looking through the demon-tweeks catalogue at the weekend and saw some PIAA bulbs.
for a std. H$ fitment they draw 55/60W but claim to offer 110/130w output.
they are £40 + the dreaded...

too good to be true?
Anyone used them?
I had phillips super vision plus's before when they had free sidelights but am back to OE bulbs and scared of venturing out at night!.

there is a thread here that tested these and other bulbs. the ge mega lights 60% were deemed the best and only cost 15.99 delivered from auto bulbs direct (top company with quick delivery).

i put these in my my99 and there is an improvement over standard but don't expect floodlight type illumination.

I've been using 'ordinary' 100/80 bulbs in my STi3 for the last 5 years. Makes a big difference and because the light lenses are so crap they don't look unusually bright alongside modern cars - except on main beam

I use them in my 99UK but the current ones don't seem as good as the previous version although they are supposed to last longer. I would see if you can find anybody who has fitted the cheaper upgrade bulbs and see what they are like. Why do fast cars always have crap lights?
