Driving light fuses!
Ok, it's dark, i'm driving home and one moment my driving lights (HID) are working, flip down to low beam when a car driving the opposite way appears, when he's gone, flick back onto high beam and.........they don't work.
Get home, swap over HID's for standard lousy things, and nope, still no joy.
so, must be a fuse (i hope).......
No, not under the bonnet (all of them are fine), so where the hell is the driving/fog lights fuse????
Can anyone shed light (poor joke) on the location of this fuse(s)?????

Depends who fitted them, but your post says it may have been you?
The fuse for mine is on the relay but some are inline with the relay.
You could also suspect the relay itself.
Find it, and put a finger on it while getting someone to select main beam with lights switched on. You should feel the relay click.

HID's draw much higher current as they are turned on than they do in normal operation so the fuse will always blow as they come on if it's going to go at all.
I also found they take more current in cold weather. I fitted my HID's with a 15A fuse in the summer and they worked fine, then come October they kept blowing the fuse until I upped it to 20A. I put a meter on it and they took over 15A for a second or so then it dropped to about 8A. I figure the higher current for such a short time won't affect wiring.
On MY02 the fuse is in the box by your right knee. But with aftermarket HID's it could be anywhere, probably either in a combined fused relay or in an in-line fuse holder in the loom supplied with the lights.

Cool, will have a look.
they are P1 HID's, the optional extra items. So standard fit into standard wiring, using existing relays etc.
