Default cig lighter suddenly starting to blow fuses

fuse went last week. the car went into subaru for a bit got them to look at it they changed the fuse and said it was fine. ten seconds down the road and it stops working. i have tapped in some neons onto this power feed that run through there own fuses etc. these have been in the car for a good 6 months without any problems until now. could it be the cigarete lighter is knackered? what shall i check for?

I would remove the Neons

Halfords do sell the fuses.

Do you use the *** lighter?? My dad had the same problem on his Leggy, push the *** lighter in and the fuse would blow and you would lose a few aux ciruits as well, linked to the same fuse.

A closer look at the *** lighter itself showed up the problem, the lighter itself was slightly bent & distorted resulting in a short circuit blowing the fuse.

We managed to straighten the lighter and that did the trick.

The only other problem could be faulty wiring in your neon's, check this out for shorts or lose connections.
