Headlight strobing like the police...
Hi,
Was talking to some biker the other day and he demonstrated some kool flash effect with his from headlights (left to right) which looks just the same as the Police use in emergency mode. He reckons it was ace for clearing traffic out of the fast lane on the M/ways I've also seen this done on a car but I believe its not legal.... show use only type of thing.
Does anyone know how this is achieved? Is it done by replacing a flasher unit relay thingy or is it more complicated?

It's done with a dedicated relay which is activated by an on/off switch positioned in the car somewhere.
Relays are about 40 or 50 odd quid and easy to wire up. All you need to do as far as the cars' loom is concerned is split the main beam wire at the headlamp and join either side to the relay.
Not that i've done this or anything like that you understand.... {ahem}
And yes when activated at night especially, there are those that squeezed their butts so tight you couldn't swipe a credit card through their b**c***k when i erm... met up with them!!..

Why worry about fitting a headlight flasher when you can go to the full police strobe effect like we have on our scoob "only for Rally support vehicle use"
These are not to be confused with the max power crap these are the real thing
I also have a full size strobe bar for the roof but can't find a good roof rack bar type thing to mount them with that doesn't sit 4 inches off the roof.
