Can someone explain wiring to guages please
I am still having some problems.
I have 2 boost guages. One is part of the cluster on insturments in a binacle - it has only 2 wires
the other boost guage is an electronic one with memory - it has 3 wires
I have been able to sort out connections to the electronic boost guage i think it is - 2 feeds and an earth. and it works and illuminates
The other guage with 2 wires is this one feed and an earth. I can get it to illuminate - but it will not turn off and then gets hot.
Where have i gone wrong?

You normally have 3 live 12v feeds:-
1. Permanent - direct from battery and normally only used to power Amps
2. Ignition - only provides power when ignition is turned on
3. Illumination - only provides power when lights are turned on
If it won't go off at all, then it sounds like you've tapped into a permanent feed from the battery somewhere.
I would recommend taking the feed from something like the cigarrette lighter power as this only goes live with the ignition switch - for an electronic gauge. Make sure it's fused though. What rating will depend on the current being drawn.
If it's a mechanical guage, with just a bulb then you could just take an illumination feed from something like the fog lights.
