Curious Alarm Fault After Fill-up
#1
Strange fault has developed on my MY99 with standard (sigma) alarm...
After i've filled up with petrol, the alarm remote won't work and i have to override it with the keypad. this has happened the last 3 times (all at the same garage btw). The alarm works fine at all other times. I replaced the keyfob batteries after the first time.
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance, Jon

Jon,
You may find that at that particular garage they have a 'mobile jammer', which stops you from being able to use your mobile on the forecourt (basically it blocks any mobile reception).
This is most likely to be conflicting with your key fob as well.
Sounds stupid, but try it about 100yds away from the garage.
Cheers

Look around for any high frequency transmitters.Drum like objects on buildings. I have the same problem outside a B&Q in Cumbernauld. I was stuck for ages stripping batteries from fobs on my two car's alarms. took ages to find out they interfere with the radio signals, needless to say I don't park there anymore move down the carpark and walk.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I filled up at another garage yesterday with no problem, so i think you must have something. I will ask if they have recently installed anything such as a mobile jammer.
I'm just a bit surprised that there aren't loads of stranded cars at the pumps. It must be very frequency specific.
Thanks again.
