Fog lights to driving lights
#1
Subject has been done to death and I've read all the previous posts but I think I have something to add and I've still got a question.
Been looking at doing this for a while and broke a fog light this weekend so had to progress it. I've published all I've found out so far on my web site, for those interested. See the fog light page:

A superb site Rob! Great to see all that info in one place.
Not sure about a blanking cover for the switch, but some people wire in the foglamp switch to a second relay to allow their driving lamps to be turned off completely (so that they don't come on with main beam). Scoobysport do a kit .. although I'm sure you would be able to do something similar for a lower price.

Rob,
Interesting site -- like an anorak I've looked at your fuel usage graph. Somebody I work with did the same thing, and what you don't need is a trend line as a drop from 25mpg to 23mpg at 20,000 miles will have a much smaller effect on the graph than if it happened at 4,000 miles. I think you need a 'last 10 (or 5) fillups moving average', so if it suddenly drops you know something's wrong.

My lights arrived yesterday. Got a bit more stuff up on-line with a few pictures. Hope to complete the fitting and the web page this weekend.
For those interested, I can get the brackets fabricated at a very good price. They could also be used to fit Cibies if enough people are interested.
Decided to use the fog light switch in series with the main beam relay control to allow them to be disabled.

Nice site and useful too!
Keep up the good work, i will be calling my dealer for one of those cargo trays first thing tomorrow - the badly fitting paper mache they loosly refer to as carpet in the boot is the first thing to go!
Thanks
Paul
