How do you know if you`ve popped your jubbly out?

Ok a bit vague.........
I fitted the 100/90W (I think) super white bulbs supplied by Scoobysport.
However during fitting I thought I might have popped the ball socket for the level adjuster out as the reflector seamed a bit loose.....
Anyway the electric adjust still works up and down but even on the lowest setting ie as if you where towing, I still get other drivers infront of me dipping their rear-view mirror.
I know the bulbs are not E-marked and are infact competion bulbs - does this mean the spread of light is much less controlled and hence hasseling other drivers or could it be because I`ve forced the reflector out of alignment?

You shouldn't have popped it out unless you unscrewed the level adjuster and pulled it. You have to pull it quite hard to rip the ball joint out.
I guess if you want to know, undo the screws holding the motor and GENTLY pull the motor. if it comes out without ANY resistance then its out and you're buggered as it's a sealed unit and I couldn't find any way to re-seat it when I, err I mean my careless friend, did the same to mine (err his).
Course, if anyone knows how to re-seat them that'd be cool. Pray you haven't busted it cos they're about 170 quid a throw...

Was it obvious that the ball-joint had become detached? Did the lense flap about or was the light beam all over the shop?
I could of course take 2 mins and get my little pinkies dirty checking the car.....Narr!

Beam was high and if you grasped the back of the bulb you could wiggle the assembly up and down.
Its a 1 minute job - get your hands dirty.
By the way there is a little catch under the dash by the door which opens the bonnet
