was thinking of fitting a set of p1 lights to get shot of big fog lights is this easily done and how much would it cost ?

First off you're going to need a 99/00 facelift bumper as the surrounds for the driving lights will only fit this version bumper.

As for cost, I think a 99/00 bumper costs about £170 brand new. Add on spraying costs after that and new front indicators. Replica light surrounds can be had for about £30.

The cost of the driving lights and ancillaries will vary depending on whether you want to go for the Halogen or HID versions. Try a local Subaru dealer for prices, but I don't think a dealer will supply them without a P1 chassis number. This thread might be of assistance:
