clock removal for t/timer?

hello..
i have amy96 uk wagon..with little digi clock (with the amazing bright button!!)
i have bought a second hand hks type 1 turbo timer...very slim small bit of kit about the same size as clock frontage
can i take out the digital clock easily and swap it for my t/timer?
reason is that it wires to ecu/handbrake and steering wheel etc..so hiding the wires would be dead easy....
any thoughts please?
ps anyone fitted one at all-i'm concerned re wher t wire to ecu-instructions very very vaque on that score..??
