Went to gym tonight, got out of car to lock but crappy alarm plip wouldnt work, so locked it manually (immobilisers kick in automatically).
Returned to car after workout, opened car with key, and waved plip around dash until imobiliser disarmed (had similar problem the other day so battery in plip probably needs replacing).
When I started it up I turned the lights on to find dash lights had gone out!

Any ideas? Blown fuse perhaps?

Question

According to the handbook for my '98 UK car, there is no fuse for the dash lights.

However, fuse number 12 is labelled "Illumination brightness control", and is 10A.
Fuses are numbered from top left 1 2 3 4 5 6
7 8 9 10 11 12 etc

Cheers mate, I found it at lunch time. The blown fuse was only 2A!! The slot it fits into is marked "10A". So I've put a 5A in just in case. If that blows then I'll put a 10A in and get the fire extinguisher ready.
