I may be shot down in flames but here goes anyway -
I have PIAA driving lights fitted to my 99 but I kept getting fustrated at not being able to buy clear covers.
After a quick search on here, all was revealed, buy the Subaru OEM covers turn them through 180 degrees and bobs your uncle.
Unfortunatly Fanny's my aunt and they kept falling off with the slightest gust of wind or pebble in the road.
I threw them on the garage shelf and carried on with the white cover (removal when needed) sketch.
I then came across a X band and whilst spinning it on my finger (while working hard) thought of a different use for it.

1300 posts and this is my first attempt at posting pics so hopefully they will appear

The band round the edge of the cover fits just behind the lamp while the spare 2 bands fit behind behind the lamp either side of the mounting bracket - sort of a double hold.

What do you think ? (Any opinions welcome)

Chris

Edited for second pic posting attempt !
And again for the third try !

Thanks for the pics Ozzy,
Got em working in the end.
Not had time to test them yet but the bands around the edge hold the cover in place resonably well and if they do fail the middle bands catch the cover and hold it against the lamp.
Only problems I can see so far is how long the band will last (may not be thick / strong enough) but thats covered by having the 2 securing methods.
Second problem is the colour (couldn't find any black ones in the box )
I'll see how their standing up to the riggors of winter in a few weeks, then post any alterations

I've been toying with a couple of ideas.... Here is my first effort..

I basically tightened up the screws but used a rubber washer between the screw and the lamp as not to damage it. It worked but I don't know if I like the look. The second Idea involves glue!! I'll keep ya posted.
