Question

when on idle, the lights are on red and any other time when driving it goes up mid way on yellow. does this seem normal?

What make of AFR meter is this, a Dawes? If so, did you be sure to get the "Subaru specific" one?

Also, when you say the red light's on at idle, is it on constantly or does it flash on and off?

Your Autometer should fly straight into the green zone on wot. If it doesn't - further investigation is required as your car is running lean as long as the gauge is plumbed in correctly

Nope - Your DV closes under throttle, so effectivly is taken out of the equation. If you are not getting green under WOT - do not drive fast - as it is deffo running lean - and lean = BANG!!!
I assume you have an RB5, so you could either have a maf issue or a Lambda issue.
Don't forget - solve problem before you nail it

The Lambda won't show up on the select monitor unless it's gone completely
The Lambda is very, very common at around 3-4 years old, so if i was a betting man - thats what i'd bet on.
Put a shout out to see if anyone is prepared to do a delta dash on your car, to confirm things
