noise from stereo once afr is fitted

now that i've fitteds me afr gauge i'm getting a lot of static through the speakers when engine is running and lights are switched on. i have soldered all wires correctly, using the ecu for lambda, back of ignition barrel for power, fog light switch for illumenation and in the left hand side of the drivers footwell onto the car's body for earth.
can anyone help me please???
