I have a My01 bug eye WRX. It seems the keyless entry has stopped working, even with a change of batteries for the remote. But the central locking still works.

I was wondering what to check? Is the keyless entry and central lock controlled by the same module?

The dealer says they need a security code to reprogram the remote and says thats all I need since the central lock works

On the aftermarket system I installed there is a socket on the relay that allows the optional connection of a keyless add-on. The central locking works without the keyless bit.
