hello!
the full beam bulb has "gone" on my morettes left hand side.
i have a 1999 classic turbo.
what bulb can i use to replace this with?
i am toying with buying a whole new set of bulbs (all 4).
what better bulbs can i install in the morettes without danger of melting anything?
cheers guys

OK: the outer pair of lights in classic style Morettes are dip/main, and take an H4 bulb. Unfortunately, if one filament goes, you have to replace both:
The inners are H2, I believe.
Best replacement for H4 is Philips Vision Plus 50% brighter, which gives better light without having to uprate the wiring/fuse, or worry about burnt reflectors etc.
Good place to buy is Autolamps Online, or Powerbulbs.
Personally, I'd leave the H2's alone, as there have been numerous threads on here from folk using uprated H2 bulbs, then suffering very frequent bulb failure.

Easy??? No.
Impossible?? Not quite:
But you do need bl**dy small hands.
The alternative is to remove the light unit from the car, but now we're into removal of sidelight, and grille. Got kids with small hands?
Seriously, to change the H4's, you need to squeeze the sides of the rubber connector inwards, then pull it off backwards. Bulb is then held in by wire clips. DON'T touch the glass of the new bulb, and DO ensure you've seated it correctly before, and after fitting the spring clips to hold it in place, or your beams will be all over the place.
Why do you want to change the inners, if they aren't gone?
Changing them is similar: ease the rubber boot back, and pull off the connector. Undo the spring clip, and ease the bulb out. Refit is a reversal.
