instrument bulb replacing
#1
I snapped my demister switch last night while attempting to replace a bulb?
anyone want to tell me how to do it properly?
hazard warning light also not working, neither is rear fog lamp (a different kind of switch altogether).

Edited cause I saw your car year on another thread !
Rear demist & hazards switchs are easy to remove.
Pull out the drinks holder and push a small screwdriver down the right had side of the right switch.
Waggle the two switchs over to the left and they should both pop out.Don't force them - just waggle.
Disconnect the wiring loom and check out this thread for details on how to change the bulbs and the correct bulb part number.

Didn't see the rear fog lamp one !
Remove the lower section of the dash - three screws.
1 on the side (easy to spot) 1 just above the bonnet release handle and 1 similar position as the last but on the left.
Pull the lower dash towards you and it pops out of two holders either side of the steering coloum.
Remove the ecu wiring loom (a little tricky as you can't see where to release it) & the 2 x fog switch wiring looms.
You can then remove the actual switch from its housing and replace the bulb.

don't think I'll bother doing the foglamp switch - bloody hell! looks like you gotta take half the car apart!
went to the local dealer to get a few replacement bulbs only to be told that subaru dont do the bulbs seperately - you gotta buy the whole switch at £30 a pop. I noticed that the switch itself is Nissan badged - so will one of their dealers stock them?

Bulbs are 49 p from Maplins !
I notice your in Lancashire / Cumbria.
I live near Preston and would happily do it for you one lunch or evening.
I'm off home now but mail me and I'll reply tomorrow - maybe meet up somewhere and I'll show you how, it's a 10 min job when you know how.

I'm over in west cumbria, even though the cars blue it still has the sellafield green tint in it.
Prestons a bit of trek I'm afriad for such a minor job but thanks a lot for the offer anyway. Will get the bulbs off maplins website and I know someone who I expect is more than capable of doing me a job a two.
thanks again though.
