Question

There appears to be a grounding point just to below and to the right of the steering column (behind the heavy-duty metal bracket).

Can anyone confirm this?

If it's the one next to the steering column with a black wire in a crimp then it (the steering column securing bolt)is used as a convenient earth for the imobiliser during installation (factory fit)
