morrets wiring problems

got these on but the high beam lights when connected to the 2 wires on the connector just stay on constantly ?!??!
another thing is my sidelights dont work ?!?!?
and with the sidelights i mean the interior lights also and the brake lights when on the first notch on the stick ?!?!?
any help greatly apreciated

You do have a relay, don't you?
Check it's wiring:
Terminal 30(shown underneath): to battery +ve via fuse, unless relay has one on it.
Terminal 85: from headlight mainbeam, usually linked by a Scotchlok type connector.
Terminal 86: to a suitable earth, mine goes straight back to battery -ve.
Terminal 87: feeds the two inner lights.
Check that the relay clicks when a helper selects main beam, and clicks again when you deselect.
Also check the earths for the two inner lights, mine are fastened to the topmost of the two mounting bolts for the Morettes that are hidden behind the grille.
If all this is OK, I would suspect the earth from the headlight bulb itself. It COULD be loose, or corroded. Try to identify it using a circuit tester, mine is one of those with a pointy end and a croc clip on a lead on the top. It lights up when it finds power with the croc on a suitable earth or battery -ve. Check which of the 3 wires behind the headlight carries current: there shoulsd be two, one for main beam, one for dip. The other is earth. Try a seperate earth back to battery via another Scotchlok.
You might try checking that the main beam feed to relay IS actually coming from main beam at this point, if it's not already solved. Circuit tester clip to battery -ve, point to wire fom main beam, does it light when main beam selected?
Hope this solves it.
If not point me at the other thread, and I'll give it a bit more thought. Most electrical problems are dead simple, caused by the daftest things!
