Crackling Stereo
Sounds as if it's picking up from the ignition. You could try the following:
Put an inline choke into the supply lead, buy it from an ICE supplier
Make sure the earth to the new head unit is secure and makes a good contact

Yeah, you're picking up ignition noise. Could be that the new head unit is more prone to noise and requires a 'cleaner' DC input than your old one so try filtering the power input to the head. Another possibility is the routing of the cable from the head unit, if it's beside other power cables then there is a chance of pickup via the cable.

Sorry this isn’t exactly a Scooby question but any help would be appreciated.
I have a Blaupunkt radio cassette and a in dash 5 disk Blaupunkt changer with the 6 speaker + in boot subwoofer in my car which are all standard Fiat kit. Last week I swapped the headunit to a Blaupunkt CD/MP3 headunit.
CLICK HEAR to see it.
Anyway everything is working fine and the CD changer is working OK but I get a crackling noise through the rear speakers and the sub when the ignition is on, when the ignition is off its fine no crackling but as soon as the ignition comes on the crackling starts. I have tried putting my old headunit back in and it stops, so I assumed it was a faulty head unit and took it back. The new one arrived today and I fitted it and it’s still crackling. Have you guys had any problems like this?? Or have any ideas???
