I've found on my JDM STi7 that when reversing in the dark I c'ant see a thing.Can this be uprated?

Dunno bout that, but how about flicking your fog light on? May or may not help.

I'd be a bit careful with uprating the reversing light, as the reflector, AND the lens are made of plastic. Higher wattage bulbs, even supposing you could fit them, would almost certainly melt one or both.
You could always do what the 70's rally boys used to do. Mount a cheap halogen Foglight with 55w or 100w bulb on the back. Wire it so that it comes on only when you select reverse,AND have switched it on from inside.
The last is important, as you don't want to be seen using it by PC Traffic--it's illegal to show a light more than 21w at the rear.
They really are the business for idiots behind you that forget to dip though............:

You are unlikely to melt the plastic unless you spend a long time in reverse at once.

Previously, not in a Scoob, I have cobbled together a bulb holder with a 55W halogen and "fixed" it into the reversing light through the original bulb holder - seemed to work quite well. I included a relay as a precaution to protect my reversing light switch on the gearbox.

Available in the states (so not much use then - but I do have a couple) is just such a thing - 55w halogen on a normal rear light base - straight swop.
