Question

After having been quoted a daylight robbery figure to supply and fit morettes to my MY01 bugeye I've read a few threads and they seem fairly easy to fit myself. But there have been comments that they are difficult to align properly. Has anyone got tips on how to do this or does it need a trip to an MOT station to ensure they point the right way. Thinking about it, do the morettes work on the electric height adjuster?

Any advice appreciated.

Morettes work with the adjusters if you have asked for them, they are fairly easy to fit aswell remove grille, remove lamps, install morettes and wire up.
I went to a garage to get the alignment done £5.
Cheers
Daz.

The major probs seem to have been on the classic shape Imprezas, where main beam and dip are independently aligned, and the adjusters are, shall we say, a LITTLE difficult to accesss once the units are on the car!
IMHO, it's a design fault, but is more than compensated for by the extra light output, and the looks.

I would recommend a quick trip to MOT station who will line them up properly ..
small amount of cash but u know u are not likely to be one of those who is trying to help guide planes into local airport

I fitted mine on MY01 WRX in about 2 hrs .. I took my time and made sure I was happy with the fit .. Skilled person could do it in 40mins ....

Hey Scott, thanks for that - just the info I needed. Now do I get the Morettes, which I can afford or blow the gaff and get a remap at Power Eng? I dunno.

mmmmmmmm.....

Morettes or a re-map ???

If u have a MY01 a remap such as Ecutek is about £650 morettes about £230 ... your choice m8 ...

I got the morettes first 'cus I just could not stand to look at the bug-eyes any longer ..
remap to come later as I have heard its recommended that you have a high-flow exhaust , filter etc before remap ..

scott, I know the two are worlds apart, but i did promise myself no cosmetic stuff until i'd finished the performance side (broken that rule already though). Morettes now seem to be about £380 painted now that Subaru/IM have got hold of them. I got quoted £590 to supply and fit (gulp). Horses for courses I suppose. Tell me they light the road a lot better or you know where to get 'em cheap (painted) and I might make up my mind.
