JDM STi Rear Tail Lights
#1
I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has any photos of a JDM STi with it's tail lights on... apparently the tail light assembly themselves is the same as the WRX's but the wiring is different... ie. the outside light is used when the headlights are on and the inner light lights up when the brake pedal is pressed.
Has anyone got any photos of this to prove me right or wrong? I've heard that it's a relatively easy mod to change the wiring around so the WRX taillights function the same as the JDM STi.

Yes, its the same cluster... but I believe the JDM uses the inside lights only for braking and the outside when the headlights are on... the opposite to that of the UK/Aussie spec STi's... same part, different wiring.

I think the wiring are different as u said, cos JDM cars doesn't have rear fogs.
As to which of the lights come on under braking, I think maybe u can try & see whether u can download any Best Motoring clips that features Imprezas in their races. U'll probably find several shots of the car from behind when it brakes for a corner.

Yes, the brake lights are on the inside for some markets.
One of the videos on the site below has a blue STI in front showing this:

It's also the same on *cough* GT3.
