Problem goes like this,

The engine turns over but wont fire.
Any ideas ?

P.s. Not impressed with the A.A. it took 3 1/2 hours to get the car home which is 3 miles from where I work

Problem with the alarm? From what you say, sounds like the immobiliser's kicked in.

Aye its looking the most likely suspect H7, but I just thought I'd post to see if anything else could be the culpritt.
Annoying thing is you can hear the immobiliser de-activating so some part of it is working because it allows the engine to turn over.

Some immobilisers just stop the power getting to the plugs (so no spark) but don't remove power from the starter motor so the engine will turn over but won't fire.

It turned out to be the immobiliser as suspected, took the bloke 20 minutes to sort it and she fired up first time, best £25 I've spent in a while
Thanks for the replies H7
