My car has a boost gauge that was fitted before I got it and it is illuminated only when the light level is set at 3. I'd like to rewire it to 0 (or have someone local do it) as I need to see further than a foot in front of the car as you'll appreciate the lights are not that great at the best of times!! How do you do?
Cheers,
Kenny

Mines wired onto the illumation wire on the stereo loom. That way, as soon as you turn your lights on, you get power on that wire and it can then light your boost gauge.
Doddle to get to as well as you only have to whip your stereo out. You can also use the wire to the ***-lighter surround as that lights up when you turn your lights on.
Basically, just take it from anything that 'changes state' when you turn your lights on and you should be ok

Have just wired in my boost gauge and took a feed from the rear fog light switch per many peoples suggestion. However, it doesn't illuminate!
The fog light switch has 6 wires, a blue (which I used) 2 x black, a brown and another (yellow I think).
The gauge doesn't illuminate when the lights are switched on or when the fog light switch is pressed so I have obviously hit the wrong wire.
My Blitz has a yellow and black - I took the yellow to earth (on the chassis) and the black choc blocked to the blue on the switch.
Which wire should I use on the fog light? I am suprised that it doesn't even come on when the fog light is on, I would have expected that at least.
Thanks
Paul

Strange - the rear fog light switch that I took the wire to didn't have a purple wire, that was the colour I was looking for ???
So I used the blue one instead. I'll have to have a look at the front fog light switch and see if there is a purple wire there...

Steve, The purple+silver supply line does not dim. It is live +12V with the side lights. The illumination for the oem column gauge on my old MY00 was so naff dimming would have been useless. The black background oem gauges for the MY01> are worse.
