RE: Help with Headlights!!!

Err, I'm not sure that I understand your question.
STi7s are available in Japan with the same lights as the UK STi and optionally with the HID version of these lights. However, the HIDs will fail the SVA test as they are not fitted with an automatic headlamp height adjuster.
Twin headlamps are available in various types;
Morrettes
UK300
and a carbon version
However, I am not aware of any of these that fit the wiring loom for the STi - in particular they fail to fit the headlamp height adjusters.
Hope that helps.

Need help with a Jap STi7. I am looking for some headlights for a Jap Import STi7. I was wondering if any one knows if these are HID ones or not? I was told all inports have HID as standard and UK ones were an option. Is this correct? Would i need to get a HID specific Subaru replacement or are there any aftermarket, twin headlight lights avaliable? Also are all sti lamps uk or imports smoked?
Anyones help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I thought all Japs have the HID's. How can i tell if my lights are HID or not. Can you tell visually? Are the electric adjustments part of the light units? Can i specify with/w/out electric adjustment from Subaru?
Also how do STI lamps differ from say a WRX one?

As far as I know (from "reading" the STi website) the HIDs are an option on all of the Japanese cars, apart from a few special editions that have them as standard. To see if they are fitted just follow the leads to the lamp and check either whether a ballast is fitted (HID only) or the thickness of the cable to the "bulb" (if it is as thick as a plug lead then it is HID).
The STi lights differ from the standard WRX lamps as they are a projector design. In terms of fitting, they can be fitted into either bodyshell but the wiring is different. For example, the electric adjusters on the WRX have three wires, on the STi they have six.
I don't know about whether there is an option to order without electric height adjustment - as far as I know there is not but my Japanese isn't up to finding out.
