Afternoon all, random question.

2006 JDM Legacy with the dual zone climate control. It's a warm car so I usually drive with it off however I notice that air is still coming through the vents even when it's turned off.

I've also noticed that if I turn the climate on and say, set it to cold, if I then turn it off the temp coming through the vents is cold (and vise versa with warm). It does turn off with the vehicle though.

I have noticed that when the car turns off the I can hear, what I presume to be the vents inside the vehicle going nuts for ages. Again, not sure if that's normal.

Anyone had this before or heard of it?

It looks (from part numbers) as if the JDM cars are the same as UK cars.

So the pdf's attached may be useful (1- A/C system; 2- A/C diagnostics)


Yes, the noise you hear are the actuators closing the various mode/mix/inlet air flaps

Thanks Don greatly appreciated as always, had a look at the diagnostics part and it does say that when the system is off the external inlet air is still open so I'm wondering if the blowing through the ducts is external air.

The dash is coming out in a few weeks and I'm replacing the not nice smelling cabin filter so I'll check a few relays etc then.
