Default Wagon rear side window demister for show only?

I've owned 2 Hawk wagons now and neither of the rear side window demisters have worked. It's the one on the passenger side rear quarter window (? maybe it's not called that - the one in the side of the boot).

The elements are absolutely fine, the connector is tight. There seems no reason for it not to work. I don't really need it to work, I just want it to work if it's meant to - you know what it's like...

Does anybody's actually work?

Yep was wondering about this myself when it was snowing and cold. Doesn't work on mine either, bugeye.

This may seem like a daft question, but is it the aerial disguised as a de-mister?
