Default Hazards continuously flashing?

I disconnected the battery on my 2001 wrx so I could change the spark plugs, reconnected battery once finished but now the hazard lights flash continuously unless I lock the car using the key.

Car does have a fob & a immobiliser that plugs into dash but as far as I knew these were disabled as central lockings never worked & have never had to use immobiliser fob as it's been kept in a draw at home, tried the fob but still flashes continuously.........any help with what's going on with the hazards would be much appreciated as I need the car for work tomorrow morning.

Why did you disconnect battery in the first place, there was no need to if you were just changing spark plugs.

Sounds as if you have done something to the immobiliser memory!!, someone may come on with a better understanding of alarms.

If as you say lights go off when lock the car with key, you should still be able to use it untill you get it sorted.

With the battery out of the way access is allot easier to the coil packs and plugs.
Yeah I'm thinking it's something to do with the alarm and resetting it somehow, once ignition is on hazards flash so driving it like that really isn't a option

For a start stick a new battery in the fob, then press the button twice and it should dis-arm the alarm.

Just so im up to speed, the hazards only flash when you lock the car with the central locking correct? Because if that's the case then it sounds like the battery in the fob wants replacing

Sorry misunderstood, try new battery in fob as Ditchmyster suggests and try resetting.
