My psi3 monitor flashes alarm for high batt voltage. Ive currently got this set at 15.5volts. Only happens every now and then. Is this normal to go so high? Ive i cancel alarm and monitor i get 14.4volts

Holds charge fine tho and i only use car once a week. Is this a sign of failing alternator? Thanks for reply

 

the alternator doesnt hold any charge lol,
the alternator is the generator, so unless the battery has grown an extra cell the voltage of 15.5v hasnt come from the battery, so it`s the alternator that needs a bit of attention,
Id certainly keep a eye on the voltage to see if its on its way out, cheaper to change a iffy alternator then a fried ECU etc, the car wont like voltage spikes.
